How to keep your hostel room coronavirus free

coronavirus clean up

In the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic, schools have been shut down with students leaving for their various homes. However, if for one reason or the other, you are still in your hostel, these are a few tips on keeping your room coronavirus free. This also applies to any room that you are staying in.

1. Wash your hands

Wash your hands regularly with soap under running water for at least 20 seconds. This is to ensure that you don’t pick the virus from any surface in or outside your room. If you happen to have a sink within your room then make good use of it. Watch the video below to understand how viruses can’t stand any type of soap. Even alatasamina should work.

2. No touching

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. This is one of the commonest ways that virus spread. You take a taxi and touch the doorknob, seat, window button etc. These surfaces can transmit viruses which when you insert into your eyes, nose or mouth infects your entire system.

3. Stay Clean

Clean and disinfect all regularly touched surfaces and objects such as tables, chairs, beds and door handles. Phones and laptops should also be cleaned frequently. You could use an alcohol-based wipe to clean such surfaces.

4. Sanitize

You may not always have soap and running water around you but having a sanitizer helps you stay clean and you can share it with others as well. Ensure that anyone who visits sanitizes his or hands with an alcohol-based sanitizer upon entering your room and upon leaving.

5. Clean up well

The virus isn’t airborne but it is transmitted through droplets from your mouth or nose. Also, ensure that anyone who visits uses a tissue when sneezing or coughing and disposes of it immediately. To make this easy, always have tissue paper readily available.

Practicing personal hygiene goes a long way to safeguarding yourself and your room from the virus. However, if you show any signs similar to that of the virus, kindly visit the nearest hospital. Don’t forget to but your trust and hope in Jesus as well. He is the author of all things and the Bible says that as many as believed on His name, to them He gave the power to become the sons of God. Below is Psalm 91, feel free to declare and meditate on this psalm.

Psalm 91 (MSG Version)

You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
    spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
    I trust in you and I’m safe!”
That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
    shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
    under them you’re perfectly safe;
    his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
    not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
    not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around,
    drop like flies right and left,
    no harm will even graze you.
You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
    watch the wicked turn into corpses.
Yes, because God’s your refuge,
    the High God your very own home,
Evil can’t get close to you,
    harm can’t get through the door.
He ordered his angels
    to guard you wherever you go.
If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
    their job is to keep you from falling.
You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
    and kick young lions and serpents from the path.

14-16 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
    “I’ll get you out of any trouble.
I’ll give you the best of care
    if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
    I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
    give you a long drink of salvation!”
