Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is one of the main public or government universities in Ghana. The university of science and technology was established by a government ordinance on 6th October 1951. It was, however, opened officially on 22nd January 1952. It is the biggest university in Kumasi, the capital town of the Ashanti region. With every academic institution comes courses and requirements for entry. KNUST courses, requirements and fees

There are undergraduate requirements and postgraduate requirements for one to be admitted into the university.

  3. Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
  4. Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)
  5. Doctor of Optometry (OD)
  6. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D)
  7. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

The total study years for a bachelor’s programme is four years with some of them being six years.

  2. Masters of Science (MSc)
  3. Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm)
  4. Master of Fine Arts (MFA)
  5. Master of Public Sector Management (MPSM)

  8. Master of Arts (MA)
  9. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

What is the cut-off grade for KNUST?

The various courses offered at KNUST come with a cut-off point or grade. The cut-off grade for KNUST helps to decide who will and who will not be able to attend the university. The lowest cut-off point is 6 and the highest is 24. A credit score in three WASSCE/SSSCE core subjects (English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science), and credits in three WASSCE/SSSCE elective subjects or its equivalent relevant to the chosen Programme with an aggregate 24 or better (WASSCE: A1- C6/SSSCE A-D) is needed to determine the cut-off points. Does KNUST accept C6?

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is the 12th best university in Africa. In the world, it has been ranked 587th.
