The KNUST Cut-Off Points for 2024/2025 Academic Year Admissions

KNUST Cut-Off Points

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is one of the premier universities in Ghana, known for its rigorous academic standards and competitive admission process. For the 2024/2025 academic year, KNUST has released the KNUST cut-off points or cut-off aggregates to guide prospective students in selecting their preferred programs.

What Are Cut-Off Points?

Cut-off points, also known as cut-off aggregates, are the minimum scores required for admission into a specific program at the university. These scores are based on the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) results, which are conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). Candidates must have credit passes (A1-C6) in six subjects, including three core subjects—English Language and Mathematics—and three relevant elective subjects.

How Are Cut-Off Points Determined?

The cut-off points for each program are not predetermined but vary yearly based on the pass rate and the availability of space and resources for each program. While the minimum entry requirement for admission to KNUST is an aggregate of 24, each program has its own specific cut-off, which is typically lower than the general entry requirement. This means that applicants must compete for limited slots in each program based on their WASSCE scores.
